[9:00 PM] Oklahoma State @ Maryland

Who will WIN this matchup?

Oklahoma State Cowboys (6-1)

@ Maryland Terrapins (7-1)

The line for this game is even.

Oklahoma State features one of the nation’s top scoring offenses entering Saturday’s non-conference contest at No. 22 Maryland, but head coach Brad Underwood continues to be concerned with his defense. The Cowboys are allowing 82.7 points per game and surrendered 85 in Wednesday’s victory over Division II Rogers State – and Underwood knows his team must be better at slowing opposing offenses.

Evans averages 24.7 points per game, leading the Big 12 and ranking among the national leaders, and the sophomore has scored at least 13 points in all seven games this season. Senior Phil Forte surpassed the 1,400-career point mark Wednesday and is 39 3-pointers shy of becoming the program’s all-time leader. The Cowboys scored 52 points in the first half, the fifth time in seven games Oklahoma State has reached halftime with 50 or more points.

Trimble ranks among the leaders in the Big Ten in scoring at 20.1 points per game, and freshman Justin Jackson continues to be steady in his debut season – averaging 11.3 points while shooting 51.7 percent from 3-point range. The return of forward Michal Cekovsky from a sprained foot has provided a boost, the junior averaging 10.3 points on 18-of-26 shooting from the field in four games. Maryland clamped down defensively in the second half Tuesday, holding Pittsburgh to 25.9 percent shooting from the field after the Panthers hit 66.7 percent of their first-half attempts.

Maryland freshman G Anthony Cowan leads the Terrapins in assists (3.8 per game) while contributing 10.3 points and 4.6 rebounds per contest.

The Cowboys are among the nation’s leaders in forcing turnovers, averaging 20.5 per contest while forcing at least 15 in every game this season.

Evans is shooting 55.6 percent from 3-point range and averages 5.1 assists and 3.1 steals per game.
