[8:55 PM] Seton Hall v. Florida

Who will WIN this matchup?

Seton Hall Pirates (3-0)

Florida Gators (4-0)

Florida’s tour of the Sunshine State continues as they take on Seton Hall in the first round of the AdvoCare Invitational on Thursday at Lake Buena Vista, Fla. The Gators have won games in Tampa, Jacksonville and Lakeland while renovations at their home arena – the O’Connell Center – are completed, and get their toughest challenge yet against hot-shooting Seton Hall. The closest game for Florida in the early going has been a 73-66 win over St. Bonaventure as coach Mike White looks for the proper mix with a talented group.

Seton Hall is averaging 88 points and shooting 54.2 percent from the field in the first three games after an impressive 91-83 victory at Iowa last Thursday. Junior guard Khadeem Carrington has drained 24-of-40 shots from the field – 10-of-15 behind the arc – and is averaging 21.7 points in the early going for the Pirates.

In addition to Carrington, three other players are averaging at least 15 points and each is shooting at least 50 percent from the floor. Junior forward Desi Rodriguez scores 16.3 and grabs eight boards per game while 6-10 junior forward Angel Delgado averages 15 points on 19-of-29 shooting and a team-best 13.7 rebounds for the Pirates. Freshman guard Myles Powell scored 20 points in the first two games, but exploded for 26 at Iowa on 9-of-14 shooting – 5-of-7 from beyond the 3-point arc – with two steals.

Graduate transfer Canyon Barry, the son of Hall of Famer Rick Barry, scored a season-high 17 points in the 78-61 win over Belmont on Monday and leads the balanced offense at 13.3 per contest. Junior forward Devin Robinson is averaging 12.8 points and 6.5 rebounds while sophomore guard KeVaughn Allen scores 12.3 per game and has made all 11 of his free throws.

Florida C John Egbunu, who missed the end of last season due to injury, leads the team in rebounding (8.5) and blocks (1.3).
