[7:00 PM] Temple @ Massachusetts

Who will WIN this matchup?

Temple Owls (1-1)

@ Massachusetts Minutemen (1-1)

Temple collectively shot 30.3 percent against New Hampshire with Obi Enechionyia accounting for eight of the team’s 20 field goals. The rest of Enechionyia’s teammates shot 12-for-49, including particularly poor performances from Shizz Alston Jr. (3-of-16) and Mark Williams (0-of-5).

Temple hopes to rebound against a UMass squad that is coming off a tough loss of its own. The Minutemen led by eight at halftime in Monday’s affair at Ole Miss before a late tip-in sent them to a 90-88 defeat.

The Owls appear to have two solid scoring options in Enechionyia and Daniel Dingle, two upperclassmen with 3-point range. The duo is 9-of-18 from the arc so far this season and is combining for 37 points per game with each connecting on at least half his shots in the early going. Alston has not been shy to start his freshman year, taking 29 shots through two games, although his shooting numbers (7-of-29, 1-of-15 from 3-point range) leave plenty to be desired.

DeJon Jarreau and Zach Lewis each rebounded from a poor season debut to put forth a stronger effort in the loss to Ole Miss. Jarreau scored a team-high 25 points on Monday after struggling to four points in his first college game. Lewis, a transfer from Canisius, was 3-of-10 for eight points in the opener but rallied to record 20 points, fueled by four 3-pointers, against the Rebels.

Aside from Mike Robbins playing one minute against New Hampshire, the Owls have used only seven players through two games.
