Arsenal’s run of three consecutive draws came to an end at the weekend after beating Bournemouth 3-1. Arsenal beat Southampton 2-1 in this fixture earlier on in the season in the league and haven’t lost at home in this campaign since losing to Liverpool back in August.

Southampton also ended a three-game winless run with a 1-0 win over Everton on Sunday. Southampton have been poor on the road this season. They’ve only managed one win in nine attempts in all competitions on their travels and haven’t even managed to score in five of those matches.

Manchester United were left bewildered how they came away from another game in which they dominated and created plenty of goalscoring chances with just a point. They have now drawn four league home matches in a row for the first time since 1990 but have the chance to get some revenge when they face the same opponents on Wednesday in the League Cup.

Slaven Bilic became the 12th manager to go through his first three leagues games unbeaten against United when his team managed a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford on Sunday. They largely had Darren Randolph to thank, but they also defended much better than they have in the past. It remains to be seen if Bilic can get his best players to recover in time for the cup match, but with United set to make changes to the team, West Ham have a good chance of causing an upset for the second round in a row, after beating Chelsea last time in the competition.
