Borussia Dortmund: 3-2-0

Jerome Boateng and Mats Hummels will start at centre-back, with Javi Martínez out injured. Arturo Vidal is a minor doubt after he played with a muscular problem on international duty, meaning Joshua Kimmich could get a chance from the off here. Franck Ribéry should return from injury here and could already feature in the starting XI, with Arjen Robben and Kingsley Coman out injured and Douglas Costa doubtful to recover in time.

Matthias Ginter and Marc Bartra compete for a spot at centre-back. Raphael Guerreiro should keep his spot at left-back, with Felix Passlack and Marcel Schmelzer remaining on the bench. Marco Reus was finally back in training after a long-term injury, but suffered a setback on Friday and will have to miss this game.

Dortmund have only picked up a single win from their last five Bundesliga matches, which came against Hamburg, who sit bottom of the table. They have struggled with injuries in the last few weeks, but several players are fit again and provide much-needed options here.

Bayern top the table, six points ahead of their rivals from Dortmund, and are yet to lose their first league game in 2016/2017. They have to become more dominant again though, after three draws in their last five Bundesliga games.

Expect this to be a hard-fought game between Germany’s most successful clubs in the last few years.
