What will be the GAME RESULT?

Wichita State: Wins By Double Digits

LSU: Wins or Single Digit Loss

The post-Ben Simmons era is off to a solid start for LSU, which aims to remain undefeated Wednesday against Wichita State. This is the opening game of the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament in the Bahamas with both teams back on the court Thursday.

Wichita State has been as impressive as any team in the nation through the season’s first few weeks. The Shockers defeated Maryland-Eastern Shore by 37 on Sunday and are averaging 93 points despite no player on the team scoring more than 12 per contest.

The Shockers are outscoring their opponents 93.3-56.5 this season with all four of their wins coming by at least 27 points. Landry Shamet and Daishon Smith each set a career high with 16 points in Sunday’s win over UMES, and they are two of the 10 Wichita State players averaging at least 5.5 points on the year.

Antonio Blakeney averaged 12.6 points as a freshman and is up to 18.7 this year while shooting 53.1 percent over the last two games. He registered 20 points in Friday’s eight-point triumph against North Florida and four of his teammates scored in double figures as well, including Duop Reath (17 points), who is averaging 16.7 points on 63.6 percent shooting. Brandon Sampson has totaled 27 points in the last two outings and is 4-of-7 beyond the arc during that stretch.

LSU F Aaron Epps is 5-of-7 from the arc, although his five made 3-pointers leads the team.
