• Barcelona prepared for Tuesday’s welcome of Paris Saint-Germain with a 5-1 win over Alaves.

• Paris Saint-Germain have won four in a row in all competitions after a 2-1 win over Nice on Saturday but the French giants will be without ex-Barcelona star Neymar because of injury. Former Real Madrid ace Angel Di Maria is also ruled out, seriously limiting PSG’s attacking options.

• Barcelona simply have to take advantage of the fact PSG are still early on in Pochettino’s reign and of course that Neymar is missing. However, they have generally struggled against better opposition this season and a recent 2-0 defeat to Sevilla again showed that. Anything other than a win here, however, would be deemed a failure with all things considered.
