Spanish Super Cup: Real Madrid v. Barcelona

Which TEAM will ADVANCE?

Real Madrid

Barcelona

Current odds:

Real Madrid: (-225)

Barcelona: (+162)

Barcelona head to Saudi Arabia on the back of a disappointing draw last time out, giving up a late equalizer against Granada after Luuk de Jong scored his second goal in as many games. That draw followed a Copa del Rey win over Linares Deportivo and a win over Mallorca. The Blaugrana were given a boost this week when new signing Ferran Torres was registered following a new contract agreement with Samuel Umtiti, but he won’t be able to play here. Still, some of the good feeling has returned for Barca following that disappointing draw with Granada, and with star striker Ansu Fati also returning, there should be some confidence heading into this tough clash.

Real Madrid come into this one after a confidence boost of their own, returning to winning ways following a defeat to Getafe. Carlo Ancelotti’s men thrashed Valencia 4-1, with Karim Benzema and Vinicius Junior each scoring a brace. The pair are now the top two in the La Liga scoring charts again.

Los Blancos remain five points clear at the top of La Liga, albeit having played a game more, and with just one defeat in 16 games across all competitions, they will fancy their chances of making it two Clásico wins from two this season.
