Fresh off their first win in nine games, the Chicago Blackhawks attempt to avenge the last loss during their slide when they continue a four-game homestand Friday against the Winnipeg Jets. Chicago ended its eight-game skid with a 6-3 triumph over Pittsburgh on Wednesday – one day after losing in Winnipeg by the same score. Captain Jonathan Toews scored a goal and set up two others for the Blackhawks, who were tied after two periods before erupting for three tallies in the third en route to their first win since Nov. 24 at Florida and first in regulation since Nov. 18 versus Minnesota. Chicago is looking to post back-to-back victories for the first time since Oct. 23 and 25 as it faces a Winnipeg team that has won three straight and seven of eight.

• The Jets watched a 3-1 lead turn into a 4-3 deficit against Edmonton on Thursday before Mark Scheifele netted the tying tally midway through the third period and set up defenseman Josh Morrissey’s winner in overtime. Scheifele’s effort gave him eight points in his last three games and kept him even with captain Blake Wheeler for the team lead with 40.

• Patrik Laine scored his team-leading 22nd goal on Thursday, ending his six-game drought. The 20-year-old Finn has registered four points in his last three contests following a four-game drought. Wheeler, who is among the league leaders with 35 assists, has scored two goals and set up 13 others while landing on the scoresheet in nine of his last 10 games.

• Toews’ second point on Wednesday was the 700th of his career, making him the 16th active player to reach the plateau with one team and fourth to hit the milestone this season. The 30-year-old also is five assists away from 400 in the NHL. Defenseman Brent Seabrook scored his 99th career goal as he appeared in his 1,037th career game on Wednesday, passing Bobby Hull for second place on the franchise list.

• Blackhawks RW Patrick Kane is riding a five-game point streak during which he has collected two goals and five assists.

• Laine leads the NHL with 10 power-play goals – half of his total in 2017-18.

• Chicago D Carl Dahlstrom notched an assist as he made his season debut on Wednesday.
