GAME ONE RECAP: A 9-2 run over 67 seconds late in the game helped Boise State surge to a 79-70 win over Utah State Wednesday, and leapfrog the Aggies into first place in the Mountain West standings. Derrick Alston, Jr. scored 18 of his 26 points in the first half to keep the game close, before the Broncos’ depth shined through during the second half rally. Boise State trailed 54-51 with 11:35 left to play when Max Rice scored six points in less than a minute, bookending an Abu Kigab three-pointer, as the Broncos took a four-point lead. Marcus Shaver, Jr. later scored eight consecutive Boise State points and finished with 12 for the game.
