After 23 regular-season games, Fairfield University Men’s Basketball turns its attention to the postseason. The Stags will open play in the 2021 Hercules Tires Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Basketball Championship with a familiar opponent. Head Coach Jay Young will bring his team to Atlantic City for a third straight matchup with Manhattan on Tuesday night. Game time is slated for 7:30 p.m.

The Stags are not only challenging the Jaspers for the third straight game on the 2020-21 slate, the squads are also meeting in the MAAC Championship First Round for the third consecutive season.

Richmond transfer Jake Wojcik paces the Stags in scoring at 13.6 ppg, while Taj Benning is also averaging in double-digits at 12.0 ppg, to pace an offense that is averaging a league-low 62.0 ppg.

Fairfield, like Manhattan, is extremely successful when holding teams to less than 60 point, as the Stags are 5-0 when keeping teams from hitting the 60-point threshold.

The Stags also lean heavily on Holy Cross transfer Caleb Green (8.3 ppg, 2.9 apg) and Jesus Cruz (8.4 ppg, 3.5 rpg)
