The Calgary Flames hope to ride their red-hot offense to a fifth victory in six games when they host the road-weary Dallas Stars on Wednesday night. The Flames have scored 23 times in their last four wins, sandwiching a shutout loss at Vegas, after recording three short-handed tallies and getting the first two goals of the season from defenseman Noah Hanifin en route to a 6-1 victory at Arizona on Sunday. The Flames, who boast five players with at least 22 points, will try to turn the tables in the series after Dallas posted three victories over them last season by a combined 10-5.

• The Stars suffered a 1-0 overtime loss at Edmonton on Tuesday in their fifth road contest during a six-game stretch over 10 days, and will play six of the next eight away from home – including a trip to Vancouver on Saturday. Dallas has scored four goals combined in its four losses over the past five games and the power play is not helping, scoring once in 24 tries the past eight outings.

• Center Tyler Seguin has two assists in the last four games and leads the team with 23 points (seven goals) – three more than right wing Alexander Radulov, who has helped set up five tallies in the past four contests. Captain Jamie Benn scored in back-to-back games before Tuesday’s shutout and leads the team with nine goals with Radulov one back despite playing 10 fewer games. The Stars are without four regular defensemen with injuries, but allowed four goals the first two games on their trip and blue liner Gavin Bayreuther told reporters “We’re a bunch of underdogs…. We’re playing our hearts out.”

• Johnny Gaudreau boasts eight points (two goals, six assists) in the last five games to tie fellow forward Matthew Tkachuk (12 goals) for the team lead with 27 points. Center Sean Monahan scored five of his team-leading 13 goals in the last seven games and is one point behind the two team leaders, while forward Elias Lindholm (11 goals) owns 23 points after being blanked in the last two games. With Mark Stone (blood clot in arm) on injured reserve and rookie Juuso Valimaki (lower body) out on the blueline, 21-year-old defenseman Oliver Kylington logged 13:49 in his season debut Sunday.

• Dallas F Jason Spezza is mired in a four-game point drought and has not scored a goal in the last eight contests.

• Calgary D T.J. Brodie has two goals, two assists and a plus-7 rating over the last four contests.

• Stars G Ben Bishop (lower body), who has missed four games, could return as early as Saturday at Vancouver.
