Elon has been the surprise of the tournament thus far. The Phoenix had to win three games to get to this point. Elon opened the tournament with a blowout win against Towson before a narrow one-point win against JMU. On Monday, the Phoenix had a huge second half and defeated Hofstra convincingly, 76-58, for its seventh straight win. Elon was 3-8 at one point this season but now will battle Drexel for the elusive trip to the NCAA Tournament. Darius Burford had 19 in the win vs. Hofstra, but the Phoenix had five players score at least 10 points.

Drexel enters the CAA Tournament as the No. 6 seed after finishing the regular season with an overall record of 9-7 with a 4-5 record in conference play.

Zach Spiker is in the midst of his fifth season as the head coach of the Drexel program after serving as the head coach at Army West Point for seven seasons.

The Dragons are led by Camren Wynter, who is currently averages 17.3 ppg and 5.4 apg. Drexel has also gotten major contributions from James Butler, who is averaging 13.3 ppg and 9.2 rpg.
