• West Ham were knocked out of the FA Cup by Manchester United after extra-time on Tuesday and picked up a whole load of injuries in the process. Should none of those recover in time to face Sheffield United then David Moyes will be scrapping the barrel for replacements.

• Sheffield United booked their place in the FA Cup quarter-finals with a 1-0 win over Championship outfit Bristol City. The Blades have now won six of their last nine matches in all competitions, as they begin to put a disastrous start to the season behind them.

• A rivalry between these two sides dates back to when a controversial Carlos Tevez winner kept West Ham in the Premier League at the expense of Sheffield United way back in 2007. They have faced each other four times since then and each match has seen under 2.5 goals. Expect a similar game here, particularly if West Ham are missing a load of key players.
